]]>Double Eleven in China is a huge shopping festival. It mainly celebrates the independence of single people. It’s a one-day sale which takes place on 11 November. Over time, the respective festival evolved and turned into a month-long event.
The Chinese Double 11 sale 2024 started on October 14 with top brands like Huawei and Apple. Both tech giants are battling for the first spot in the ultra-high-end smartphone ranking.
As per the JD.com shopping channel, Huawei and Apple are currently the only brands to dominate the top 10 high-end smartphones listing. There isn’t any other brand in this category. Here’s a list of top-end devices in the JD online store:

Both Huawei and Apple have five smartphones on this list, implying fierce competition. Note that all these models range above 6000 yuan. The list has been announced today, revealing the top 10 rankers in the ultra-high-end handsets category.
Huawei has listed the latest Pura 70 and Mate 60 models on the shopping platform. The Mate X5 folding phone is also on the list. It’s the only foldable in the top 10 premium handsets. A major benefit of these devices will be HarmonyOS NEXT.
The tech giant released the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta for Mate 60/X5 models while Pura 70 series received the closed beta version. These devices will undoubtedly be the first to experience the stable HarmonyOS NEXT software features.
Apple, on the other hand, has listed the newly launched iPhone 16 series which will get the AI Intelligence in China next year. The list also has the previous-gen iPhone 15 models. These devices are available at good discounts on JD.com. Consumers can visit the official site for more details.
Double Eleven is the perfect platform that enables brands to promote their devices at the best price drop. Both Apple and Huawei can well benefit from the shopping festival, increasing the market share and sales revenue in the Chinese smartphone market.

]]>The post Huawei Nova 12 Pro may only sell online following Nova 13 launch appeared first on Huawei Central.
]]>UncleKanshan notes that the Huawei Nova 13 series launch may affect its predecessors to some extent. The Nova 12 Ultra and Lite models could continue to sell in online and offline stores. However, that won’t be the case with the Pro variants.
The tipster says that Huawei will likely remove the Nova 12 Pro from offline shelves and make it available only in online stores. It won’t be discontinued completely but will be present partially in the Chinese smartphone market.
Consumers would still be able to purchase the respective model, but only from the VMall and other online shopping channels. Any such news for the standard Nova 12 is currently missing. We may get accurate details after the Nova 13 series launch.
Huawei often removes its previous-gen devices from the shopping stores for the new ones. The company adopted the same strategy during the Pura 70 launch. It removed the P60 series from the VMall just a few weeks after the Pura 70 release.
Earlier it seemed a software glitch. But the situation is still the same. P60 and Nova 12 series are demanding handsets in the market. Thus, Huawei might opt for this strategy to catch the consumers’ attention over new products than previous ones.

Huawei will unveil Nova 13 series smartphones on October 22. The devices are already open for pre-order activity. Consumers can visit the VMall and pay a 100 yuan deposit to reserve the device (standard or Pro) ahead of its official unveiling.
Nova 13 Pro is coming in a new avatar. The standard variant shows a similar design to the Nova 12. However this time, the company has enhanced the Pro model’s design. You can check the differences between Nova 13 and 13 Pro HERE.

]]>The post Huawei Mate 70 series may introduce new AI gestures appeared first on Huawei Central.
]]>Weibo tipster @FixedFocus implies the Huawei Mate 70 series will equip a new AI motion sensor. This microchip may bring more features similar to air gestures.
AI sensing chip or a motion sensor ultimately tracks and identifies motion or signals made by the user’s hand. It recognizes these signals in real time and tries to process the data in the device to fulfill the user’s command for a particular operation.
These sensors are further combined with 3D depth-sensing lenses, infrared technology, as well as machine learning to provide accurate results in real time.
Huawei will likely use a more advanced AI motion sensor for the Mate 70 series to bring interesting gestures on board. Apart from air gestures, users may find more new motion-based features that will take the interaction to a whole new level.

The company is reportedly imposing new components to the Mate 70 series to deliver a perfect device experience. A recent leak suggested an upgraded ISP camera chip for improved shooting effects. It will likely bring a far better photography experience.
Now an advanced motion sensor seems to be in the components list.
Air Gesture is a useful capability that enables users to interact with their smartphone or tablet without touching the screen. It relies on AI algorithms and uses ultrasonic waves to detect and understand the hand gestures in front of the display.
One can take screenshots, scroll up and down, or left and right, answer a call, pause or play audio/video, and do various other with Huawei air gestures.
The OEM introduced AI air gesture with Mate 30 Pro. It kept upgrading the feature with new devices. The Pura 70 series is the latest example to support air gestures.
As of now, the tech giant is planning to introduce smarter gestures with the Mate 70 lineup. Let’s see what other changes we will get with the upcoming flagship.

]]>DXOMARK performed a new comparison test between the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Huawei Pura 70 Ultra for a telephoto lens. The participant list also includes other flagship smartphones like Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Vivo X100 Pro.
The reviewer noted that Apple has improved the telephoto camera and its features with the iPhone 16 Pro Max to a significant extent. However, it still cannot match the level of the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra and other Chinese premium devices.
Inputs further reveal that the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max’s telephoto lens struggled with the focal length operations. The device exhibits more noise while capturing the images. Meanwhile, the skin details in the image demand more clarity.

DXOMARK notes that iPhone 16 Pro Max detail processing isn’t as good as the Chinese models. It failed to show improved picture quality and better refinement in the landscapes. The color accuracy also feels pale than other handsets.
Comparatively, the Pura 70 Ultra and the other two models performed quite well with their telephoto camera. These devices portrayed better and sharper details with smoother facial skin. Overall results are far superior to the iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max:

The device features an advanced XD Motion Engine that ensures accurate clicks even at the fastest pace. Huawei has also enhanced the XMAGE imaging system to ensure an excellent photography experience for its users.
The device features a triple-camera setup with a 50MP main shooter, a 40MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP telephoto snapper with 3.5x optical zoom.

]]>The post Huawei Pura 70 Ultra has cutting-edge 5G radio architecture: TechInsights appeared first on Huawei Central.
]]>A few early teardowns have shown that Pura 70 series uses more Chinese parts than previous Huawei phones. The standard variant possesses nearly 33 China-made components, which is the highest number to date. Read the full details HERE.
Now TechInsights revealed that the Huawei Pura 70 Ultra has advanced 5G radio architecture. It says that the OEM imposed improved RF parts on the device.
RF (radio-frequency) components are the basic parts that operate a device. These elements manage filtering, amplifying, mixing, and modulating signals. Simply put these help in transmitting/receiving radio signals between two devices.
TechInsights states that the Pura 70 Ultra shows the company’s progress in cutting-edge technologies for its devices. And the 5G radio design is no exception to this theory. The report also mentions that the Pura model has a few similar RF parts to the Mate 60 series handsets. Some of these are given in the image below.

Notably, all components mentioned in the list are made in China. The main manufacturers of these parts are HiSilicon, China Electronics Group, and Onmicro.
Apart from components, certain features of the Pura 70 Ultra are also running on Chinese components. For instance, the satellite features by Beidou and Tiantong are possible due to the MSC06A MSS chip and a HiSilicon processor.
These enhancements reflect Huawei’s progress towards self-reliance. The company is ditching foreign components for its devices. It aims to support native suppliers and enrich its creations with self-developed elements over the U.S.-based parts.
A recent input said that the Huawei Mate 70 series will have more Chinese components than the Pura 70 models. Things will get clear after the official unveiling of the upcoming flagship.

]]>The post Huawei Mate 70 series could bring improved camera shooting effects appeared first on Huawei Central.
]]>Mate 70 camera specifications are in the mist at present. Early rumors said the flagship lineup will use an upgraded camera system over the Pura 70 models. Now a new leak adds more insights to this matter, specified with an ISP imaging chip.
Tipster FixedFocus notes that the Huawei Mate 70 series will likely bring improved camera shooting effects. The primary color mode, also known as RGB (red, green, blue) spectrum may provide more vivid colors and brighter shots than before.
The highlight of this leak is a new ISP imaging chip. Huawei is said to use a new ISP (Image Signal Processor) component to enhance the camera effects for Mate 70.
ISP is a special imaging chip that processes raw image data and converts it into high-quality images. It runs on automatic scene and face recognition capabilities to enhance the image output. The chip further adjusts other aspects like contrast, color, and brightness of the pictures, making them more realistic.
Other characteristics of the ISP chip are to maintain the white balance, auto-focus, noise reduction, and sharpness of the image to make them perfect.

An upgraded ISP imaging processor will eventually boost the shooting ability of the Mate 70 series. However, the tipster notes that the camera parameters could differ between Mate 70 variants, which will likely affect the photography experience.
Anyways, the overall camera performance is expected to be better than the previous-gen models. Mate’s lineup has been all about performance. But the tech giant never compromised its photography experience. Thus, we may see new upgrades with the upcoming Mate 70 series smartphones as well.
Mate 70 series may use the signature circular camera bump on the rear side. An early input claimed that the standard model could opt for an OV50H main lens whereas, the high-end variants will adopt new OV50N and OV50M camera sensors.
A large variable aperture camera combined with a hybrid lens is also on the expected list. But how far these leaks are accurate is still a big question. We may get answers to these doubts in the next month. Stay tuned.
