The post Honor faced pressure and challenges after leaving Huawei: CEO appeared first on Huawei Central.
]]>Zhao Ming talked about Honor and Huawei in a livestream interview. The official said that Honor has cut off its relationship with Huawei in a far better way than any other company. But this separation initially brought many challenges.
The CEO mentioned that his original family (Huawei + Honor) has been successful. Although after being separated from the parent firm, Honor felt immense pressure.
It had to begin everything from scratch. The biggest challenge for Honor executives was to manage those operations that they were completely unaware of.
After the U.S. banned Huawei in 2019, the company sold its subsidiary firm Honor to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology in November 2020. The aim was to prevent Honor from the drawbacks of the ban and enable it to operate freely.
The beginning was quite tough for Honor. The company was under pressure to meet consumers’ expectations with better products. Yet it managed the difficult times and came out with flying colors.

Zhao Ming further spoke on comparisons of Honor with Huawei and Apple. According to him, Honor feels pressure while competing with tech giants. Yet, the company remains calm and continues to explore new ways that can benefit its consumers.
“When communicating with backbones and supervisors, everyone said that we are leading, but we always feel a lot of pressure. We have three big mountains. The objects we compare with are not Apple today, but Huawei tomorrow.”
Zhao Ming states that he tries to see positivity in every aspect. The official once said that despite pressure and challenges, Honor made a separate identity from Huawei. The company is constantly achieving success and aims to offer more improved and innovative products in the future.

]]>The post Honor 300 series rumored to equip smaller screen than Honor 200 appeared first on Huawei Central.
]]>SmartPikachu recently noted that the next-gen digital series – Honor 300 might equip smaller screen sizes than its predecessors. The leak adds that these smartphones will launch next year, probably with a new design and surprising features.
The input doesn’t reveal the display panel size. Hence, the exact parameters of the screen are unclear. Although it will likely be less than the 6.7-inch (Honor 200).
A few netizens predicted that the Honor 300 series screen could be around 6.3 or 6.1-inch. Some said that the company could introduce the standard variant with a smaller screen while keeping the high-end variants confined to large display panels.
Small-screen devices may again become a trend soon. Due to less growth and changes in the smartphone market, many tech vendors ditch the small device idea.
One of the examples is the iPhone 13 mini. Apple stopped launching “Mini” models due to a decline in the respective phone’s sales. On the flip side, Samsung continued to impress its customers with the 6.1-inch standard Galaxy S series handsets.
Honor might be planning a new strategy with the smaller screen phones in the consumer market. The company hasn’t confirmed any details regarding the Honor 300 series. Hence, let’s take the current input with a grain of salt.

The Chinese OEM launched the Honor 200 series in May this year. It has a 6.7-inch OLED screen with 1200 x 2664 pixels resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 4000 nits peak brightness, and 436PPI. The device has 5G and dual-SIM capability.
It runs on Android 14-based MagicOS 8.0 and equips the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset paired with Adreno 720 GPU. The phone features an optical fingerprint sensor, accelerometer, gyro, compass, and Circle to Search feature as well.
Honor 200 series sports a tri-cam setup consisting of a 50MP main lens, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 50MP telephoto shooter. The front part holds a 50MP selfie sensor for amazing portraits. The device packs a 5200mAh cell with 100W wired and 5W reverse wired charging support.

]]>The post Leak shows similar Control Panel of HarmonyOS NEXT and MagicOS 9.0 appeared first on Huawei Central.
]]>Weibo tipster @RuiPlaysDigital shared an image of two Control Panels, claiming them to be of HarmonyOS NEXT and MagicOS 9.0. One of these is similar to an early revelation of HarmonyOS NEXT Control Center and adds consent on this matter.
The tipster says the only difference between HarmonyOS NEXT and Honor MagicOS 9.0 Control Panel is the arrangement of widgets. For instance, the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth tabs, audio controller, volume and brightness adjuster, and so on.
Meanwhile, other features and icons of these two Control Panels are quite identical to each other. The blur effect between the two also differs to some extent but possesses the same capability. Let’s explore both Control Panels one by one.
The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth tabs are placed vertically on the top left, beside the hotspot section. Below these buttons, users will find the media player and two adjusters: brightness and volume. Settings and Edit icons are also visible above the hotspot.
At the topmost side, there is a battery indicator and other network services icon. The rest of the Control Panel is full of quick setting icons like ring, rotate, and more.
The live image shows an opaque background rather than a slight blur. But that could be the wallpaper effect. Other changes will be clear by the MagicOS 9.0 launch.

The current appearance is quite similar to a previous leak. It shows merged items instead of separate ones. Just opt for a simple “swipe down” gesture to see all the icons alongside a large brightness adjuster, which is not visible in this picture.
All the icons and tabs appear at equidistance from each other. The tiny icons are now more round than ever before and seem quite big as well as recognizable.
One side of the Control Panel shows the setting icon while the other one highlights the editing option. The background seems more blurry, giving the effect of the main wallpaper on the Control Panel which ultimately makes it more appealing.
Concluding the points, the tipster said that HarmonyOS NEXT Control Panel isn’t the final version. Huawei could make more changes and modify it with the stable version. Thus, we may find more interesting changes between the two major OS(s) later.

The next week will be full of excitement as the MagicOS 9.0 will step into the real world. Honor has seemingly made useful amendments to the existing features and may introduce better capabilities with the upcoming software upgrade.
AI Agent, on the other hand, claims to focus on four major aspects. These are as follows:
Zhao Ming – the CEO of Honor Devices said during an event that AI Agent will help Honor users to complete various smartphone operations in one sentence.
The latest announcement is in line with the previous revelation. Magic 7 series will likely be the first to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. Many other flagship smartphones are also launching ahead of the Magic 7 series. Yet they might equip the Dimensity 9400 chipset.
A recent leak suggested that Honor Magic 7 Pro may adopt an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. Most of the camera specs and internal features would be similar to the predecessors. But there would be some major changes to boost the user experience.
Other specs and details about the new products will gradually come into the light.

]]>The post Honor Magic 7 Pro could use ultrasonic fingerprint sensor appeared first on Huawei Central.
]]>Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation says that the Honor Magic 7 Pro could use a single-point ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. This tech generally uses sound waves to generate a 3D picture of a user’s fingerprint for screen unlocking purposes.
Let’s learn more about the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor!
A single-point ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is an advanced biometric authentication method. It uses sound waves as an ultrasonic pulse and transmits them against your finger (when placed on the scanner). These pulses line out every minute detail of the fingerprint including ridges and small pores.
Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner can work even if your fingers are dirty or wet. They provide more security over other alternatives and are easier to use on phones.
Optical vs Ultrasonic: Difference
Ultrasonic fingerprint sensors are superior to optical ones! Why? Well, the former generates a 3D image of your fingerprint with all ridges and valleys. Whereas, the latter technology captures only fine lines on your fingertips in a 2D image.
The optical fingerprint scanners often lag and can easily be fooled. But it’s just the opposite with the ultrasonic option. It is faster, more accurate, and much safer.
For reference, Honor Magic 6 Pro equips an optical fingerprint sensor. The option isn’t bad, but some users reported that it takes a couple of tries before unlocking the screen. Many users even recommended face unlock rather than the fingerprint.

Perhaps to avoid this issue with the Magic 7 Pro, Honor may adopt the very useful – ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The company hasn’t confirmed the news so far. Hence, let’s wait for some official confirmation on this matter.
Honor Magic 7 Pro will likely support 100W fast wired charging. It will also adopt full-speed wireless charging. The device may feature a quad-curve OLED panel with equal depth. The battery would be the same as the Magic 6 Pro (5600mAh).
Regarding the camera details, the tipster said that the primary camera and periscope shooter could be similar to the previous-gen model. Although Honor could use a new OmniVision main camera for the standard model, replacing the OV50H.
More details are on the way and will be clear in the upcoming days.
