Honor has officially confirmed that the X60 series will support satellite communication features. The lineup was in rumors to adopt satellite SMS capability. Although the company has cleared the mist from this matter via a new teaser image.

Jiang Hairong – the CMO of Honor announced that the X60 series will use satellite communication technology. The executive shared a huge image that confirms the respective capability for the X60 models. A short para in the image reads:

“…considering that many Honor X series users work and live in forests, deserts, mountains, and other areas, we will also integrate the industry’s flagship satellite communication technology into the Honor X60 series which will actively respond to user needs!”

Note that this would be the first time when Honor is launching satellite features for a high-end model. Up to this point, the company kept this functionality confined to the flagship and top-end handsets. For instance, the Magic 6 series.

Honor introduced its rock-solid satellite SMS technology. The tech focuses on three major aspects: antenna size, call durability, and communication experience. It even surpassed Mate 60 Pro in terms of catching satellite signals at the fastest pace.

Now the company will likely use this feature with the Honor X60 series. As mentioned, users will be able to send and receive important messages with their friends or family members even when their phone is out of network or cellular signals.

However, one has to ensure that the device is under a clear sky to achieve the strongest signal. The company may clear more details on this matter on October 16.

Honor X60 series will launch this month with flagship-level specifications and it might also sport the satellite SMS feature. A new leak hints that the upcoming high-end models ranging nearly 1000 yuan could sport satellite communication features.

Weibo tipster @FixedFocus mentions that a 1000-yuan device will likely sport Beidou satellite SMS capability. The tipster didn’t reveal the phone’s name yet.

But judging from the pricing segment, the device is suspected to be the Honor X60. And it might be accurate to some extent. A few revelations say that the new X-tagged models will use flagship-level specs. For instance, a jumbo 6000mAh cell.

The respective device is also expected to bring better features, capabilities, as well as hardware components than the previous-generation handsets. Hence, the Honor X60 could feature satellite SMS capability for enhanced connectivity.

A few netizens suggested that the suspected device could also be a Huawei phone, probably the Nova 13 series. The pricing details of the device are still unknown. However, an early leak suggested that the lineup may bring upgraded satellite features.

Huawei was the first to introduce satellite SMS capability with the Mate 50 models. Later, it upgraded the feature with Mate 60 Pro and brought the calling support to it. Now Honor will likely bring this function to its high-end smartphones.

Huawei phones contain top-of-the-line features and network capabilities. This was proven when a Huawei phone’s strong signal performance saved the life of a climber. It helped the person to call for help when other devices failed to connect.

A mountaineer recently went on a hiking trip with friends. It was a rainy day due to which the rocks and mountains were quite slippery. While climbing one of the rock walls, the mountaineer lost his balance and slipped off the cliff.

The climber didn’t fall too far as there was a tree underneath. He took out his phone to reach out for help. Notably, he had three phones with him: Apple, Xiaomi, and Huawei. Among these three devices, only the Huawei phone proved a helpful one.

Despite a “no-man land”, the Huawei phone had a good enough signal to call or connect with contacts. Whereas, other brand phones didn’t support any network communication service at that time. Revealing the story, the mountaineer said:

“I brought three mobile phones and only Huawei had a signal.”

In this way, the Huawei phone’s strong signal performance saved the life of a climber and brought him out of the danger zone.

Note that the information didn’t reveal satellite communication or the device name. It seems that the details revolve around regular cellular network signals.

Huawei phone's signal climber life

The story implies that Huawei phones serve the best signal performance over other brands. Even if you don’t use satellite SMS or calling features, the normal network signal will allow you to connect with your contacts in times of emergency.

It’s not the first time that Huawei has topped the signal conditions. Many tipsters have tested the company’s network signal performance in areas like basements, underground places, elevators, and more. And the results were immensely good.

To raise the communication standard, Huawei introduced satellite features in 2022. Over time, the company kept upgrading this tech with new and advanced capabilities. Pura 70 series’ image-sending satellite feature is the perfect example.

Huawei is now preparing Mate 70 handsets. These devices are said to bring 5.5G+ network technology for more seamless connectivity as well as signals. Let’s see how the company upgrades its signal performance with the upcoming flagship.

Huawei has listed a new smartwatch (EDD-B39) on the CQC database. The wearable supports a few advanced features for efficient user experience. It seems the company has a bunch of wearables in the pipeline that it may unveil one by one for consumers.

The CQC certificate counts under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China. It validates that the devices or products fulfill the Chinese standard. Now a new Huawei watch received this certificate, implying its nearing launch.

According to the details, the new Huawei smartwatch EDD-B39 supports UWB (Ultra Wide-Band). The wireless communication tech ensures lower power consumption and high bandwidth. Users get better short-range communication with this feature.

It also supports the Beidou satellite SMS feature. The features run on the Beidou Navigation Satellite System and allow users to send or receive messages without a cellular network. It is a quite helpful feature at times of urgency.

The device also has a CW03 charging base panel and supports wireless charging. Note that the charging base model is the same as found on the Watch 4.

Before jumping to conclusions, note that the satellite SMS feature is only available to Watch Ultimate (CLB-B19). Huawei has recently certified the Watch Ultimate 2 with model number WDS-B19 with the same UWB and satellite SMS support. Now another wearable in this segment has raised several questions in the mind.

It could be one of the Watch 5 models or any other variant in the Ultimate series. If the former statement is correct, then Huawei is seemingly expanding satellite features for wearables. If the latter is correct, we may get two Watch Ultimate 2 variants.

The exact details of this new Huawei smartwatch are unclear. Perhaps we have to wait some more days to get accurate information about this wearable.
