Xiaomi will likely debut HyperOS 2.0 this month and the new OS may bring improved animations and network performance. A new leak suggests that the company will offer a seamless connection to its device owners with the newest software upgrade.

Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu says that HyperOS 2.0 will deliver enhanced animations and network performance. The company has not only worked on the UI segment but also improved the network functioning to offer the best software experience.

The leak specifies an “active intelligent network” for HyperOS 2.0. It could mean that the company will improve the interconnection between devices. Xiaomi may adopt AI algorithms this time to maintain a stable connection between multiple devices.

Active Intelligent network further refers to reliable and stronger cellular signals in devices. It could maintain a good signal despite bad weather or other issues. Things are uncertain but we can expect better network performance with HyperOS 2.0.

Other than network, the tipster hinted at the animation effects. HyperOS 2 will likely bring more upgraded animations than ever before. These might be smoother, faster, and more fluent than the previous software versions.

Xiaomi phone users often complained about the sluggish animations. They used to compare the software with ColorOS 15 and other Android skins. But this time, Xiaomi may resolve the animation and lagging problems with HyperOS 2.0.

A recent HyperOS 2.0 leak demonstrated a brand-new unlock animation. The new addition claims to offer real-time light effects, gradient transitions, and brighter colors on the screen. You can check the complete details of the new animation below.

Honor Magic 7 Pro will be the high-end variant of the Magic 7 series and it will likely feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The device is said to upgrade the unlocking experience and make it safer and far more secure than its predecessors.

Weibo tipster @DigitalChatStation says that the Honor Magic 7 Pro could use a single-point ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. This tech generally uses sound waves to generate a 3D picture of a user’s fingerprint for screen unlocking purposes.

Let’s learn more about the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor!

A single-point ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is an advanced biometric authentication method. It uses sound waves as an ultrasonic pulse and transmits them against your finger (when placed on the scanner). These pulses line out every minute detail of the fingerprint including ridges and small pores.

Ultrasonic fingerprint scanner can work even if your fingers are dirty or wet. They provide more security over other alternatives and are easier to use on phones.

Optical vs Ultrasonic: Difference

Ultrasonic fingerprint sensors are superior to optical ones! Why? Well, the former generates a 3D image of your fingerprint with all ridges and valleys. Whereas, the latter technology captures only fine lines on your fingertips in a 2D image.

The optical fingerprint scanners often lag and can easily be fooled. But it’s just the opposite with the ultrasonic option. It is faster, more accurate, and much safer.

For reference, Honor Magic 6 Pro equips an optical fingerprint sensor. The option isn’t bad, but some users reported that it takes a couple of tries before unlocking the screen. Many users even recommended face unlock rather than the fingerprint.

Honor Magic 7 Pro fingerprint

Perhaps to avoid this issue with the Magic 7 Pro, Honor may adopt the very useful – ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The company hasn’t confirmed the news so far. Hence, let’s wait for some official confirmation on this matter.

Honor Magic 7 Pro will likely support 100W fast wired charging. It will also adopt full-speed wireless charging. The device may feature a quad-curve OLED panel with equal depth. The battery would be the same as the Magic 6 Pro (5600mAh).

Regarding the camera details, the tipster said that the primary camera and periscope shooter could be similar to the previous-gen model. Although Honor could use a new OmniVision main camera for the standard model, replacing the OV50H.

More details are on the way and will be clear in the upcoming days.

Samsung phone users have locked their eyes on the One UI 7.0 arrival and in the meantime, the leaks are constantly implying better changes with the new upgrade. One effective enhancement in One UI 7.0 could be an all-new camera interface.

The South Korean tech giant is not only focusing on making its UI segment incredible but also easier to navigate. Despite an attractive interface, users often get stuck with the usage and navigation part of the One UI software updates.

But it seems the company is fixing this problem with the One UI 7.0. This could also be a reason why Samsung is taking time to release its new One UI beta update for developers and users. So without any delays, let’s take a look at new changes.

One UI 7.0 Camera Interface

The company is ready to give a bold revamp to the camera segment with the One UI 7.0 upgrade. The recent One UI 7.0 early build leaks suggest that the tech maker will adopt a more simple and easy-to-use camera interface with the new OS.

Looking into the details, shooting models like Photos, Videos, Portraits, and other labels now appear at the bottom of the screen. It is the perfect spot to switch between camera modes and other shooting tools without spending much time.

One UI 7 camera interface

One UI 7.0 to bring simpler and easier camera interface

Camera controls are now far better than the previous builds. One UI 7.0 has a new single tab as the replacement for Night Shot mode. The exact function of this button at the bottom of the camera interface is unclear. Though we may get details soon.

Other controls like Settings, Flash, Timer, Aspect Ratio, and Motion Photo can be found in the lower middle of the screen. These simple but significant changes will offer a clutter-free camera interface to users.

These changes even seem effective for those who prefer using the device in the one-handed mode. Such users can also opt for certain options from the top right corner of the camera layout. These changes could differ in the stable version. Hence, let’s wait more on this segment till the official rollout.

HarmonyOS NEXT-based WeChat app is open for public testing and has a set of new features including a seamless chat transfer tool. Huawei devices running on the latest software beta build can now experience these changes and app capabilities.

Weibo tipster @AdakFenglangjuxu mentioned that Huawei device users who upgraded to HarmonyOS NEXT can use the WeChat seamless chat transfer tool.

From the name, the feature will efficiently transfer all the chat records of WeChat to the new software system, without losing any details or other data of the app. Ensure that you are using the WeChat HarmonyOS NEXT application version.

The feature seems quite effective. Often users concern about the device data and chats while upgrading their device to a new OS. Doing so leads to conversation loss and requires multiple processes to transfer the chat records locally.

Although WeChat HarmonyOS NEXT app has resolved this problem with a seamless chat transfer tool. Note this feature will only support Huawei devices upgraded to the HarmonyOS NEXT beta version. Others have to wait for subsequent builds.

The tipster further reveals that HarmonyOS NEXT has great changes for the Control Center. It may also bring an iOS-like live map to users for easy navigation.

HarmonyOS NEXT could further adopt a one-tap lock screen access capability and some more effective changes. A recent feature of the new OS is app cloning which can split the original app into 5 clones so that users can effectively run the application.

More such features are on the way. Many native HarmonyOS apps are now open for public testing. The drawback is only HarmonyOS NEXT beta users can explore these applications. But Huawei may expand the software testing to more device owners in the coming weeks.

Huawei Mate 70 series will bring notable upgrades for users and one of the key changes could be faster touch response. The company may adopt a new component for Mate 70 display panels that will boost the touch experience for its consumers.

Weibo tipster @FixedFocus implies that the Huawei Mate 70 series may use a new IC (Integrated Circuit) chip to enhance the touch response. The chip details are unknown. But it aims to provide a quicker and more responsive touch experience.

IC chip or integrated circuit is a microprocessor in the device that converts input signals into measurable waves. It helps determine the touch position on the screen.

Simply put, as soon as a finger comes in contact with the screen, the chip processes the signals via software algorithms and responds instantly and more efficiently.

The latest input states that Huawei will improve the touch feedback with Mate 70 models to a greater extent. The new touch IC chip in the next Mate lineup may provide a faster and more productive touch response, especially while playing games.

Apart from the new touch IC chip, Huawei may also adopt an upgraded side-mounted fingerprint sensor for the Mate 70 vanilla and Pro variants. It is expected to occupy less space on the side edges and ease the overall unlocking experience.

Huawei aims to deliver the best device experience with the Mate 70 series. The previous-generation models have been a huge milestone for the company. Now it aims the same sales record and attention for the upcoming Mate lineup.

Expected Upgrades

Mate 70 series has entered mass production and will likely launch in the next month. It will be the first to feature stable HarmonyOS NEXT and may bring a brand-new Kirin chipset (probably with a 5nm process).

Some other changes in the list include a stronger body architecture using basalt material, a circular camera bump with new imaging capabilities, AI features, as well as a slightly upgraded design, and more.

Huawei Mate 70 could use an upgraded side-mounted fingerprint sensor that will occupy less space and offer an easy unlocking experience. A recent leak claims the respective solution may ease unlocking scenarios for device owners.

FixedFocus revealed earlier that the Mate 70 and Pro models may use a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The high-end variants could continue to sport an optical fingerprint solution. Now the same tipster added more insights to the topic.

The tipster says the Huawei Mate 70 side fingerprint solution occupies less space on the device. It is an average yet improved fingerprint scanner that eases the unlocking experience. The OEM aims to offer the best fingerprint recognition with Mate 70.

Unlike the under-display or rear-mounted solutions, a side fingerprint sensor seems more easily accessible. It may also deliver faster recognition times. Being on the side, it is said to occupy less space and can lead to fewer bezels around the screen.

The tipster eventually said the Huawei Mate 70 side-mounted fingerprint solution will provide the best unlocking experience to users.

A few netizens further speculated that the company will likely opt for a 3D side-mounted fingerprint solution. Such scanners use ultrasonic tech to generate a 3D impression of a user’s fingerprint. It also protects from fake fingerprint scenarios.

It is unclear if Huawei will adopt a 3D side-mounted fingerprint solution or an ordinary one for the Mate 70 series. Although the device will likely deliver a better unlocking experience over other models with the same technology.

Another tipster in the comment section hints that the Mate 70 has a slim but spacious body. It can easily stack many components. The company has also enhanced the thermal conditions of the device, avoiding overheating and related problems.

Everything combined, the Mate 70 series may deliver an improved and far better unlocking experience with the side-mounted fingerprint scanner. An official confirmation awaits on this matter. Though things will get clear in the coming days.

Huawei is making significant upgrades to its upcoming Mate lineup. One of the inputs said that the company will make noteworthy changes to the device’s design. It may adopt a more flat frame than previous-generation smartphones.

The manufacturing and components of these flagship models seem a bit expensive. But that won’t affect the overall pricing of the device. Let’s see what major upgrades the lineup will bring on board.

HyperOS 2.0 will not only bring better security features for Xiaomi devices but also incredible UI changes. One such change that has appeared in a new input is the HyperOS 2.0 unlock animation. It’s another beautiful add-on to the new software.

According to XiaomiTime, HyperOS 2.0 will likely bring a stunning unlock animation to Xiaomi devices. This change offers an amazing feel as soon as users unlock their handsets. Xiaomi also improved fluency aspects with the new transition.

The shared video shows that unlocking the device will pop up all the app icons and widgets (one by one but quickly) from the bottom screen to their original place, giving an attractive feel. The overall transition appears quite smooth and fast.

The animation has minimalistic visuals to offer a clean, clear, simple but classy look at the home screen while unlocking the device. It appears natural and claims to offer enhanced responsiveness without lagging at any point during unlocking.

Huawei is ready to launch the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta next week. The company has scheduled the new software testing program for October 8. This new testing build will offer a more effective and productive experience to Huawei device owners.

Are you excited about HarmonyOS NEXT public beta going live next week? Let’s take a look at some key points that will ease the software testing for users.

The HarmonyOS NEXT public beta activity will happen for selected device users. These are the first batch models that have been a constant part of new software testing:

  • Mate 60
  • Mate 60 Pro
  • Mate 60 Pro+
  • Mate 60 RS Ultimate Design
  • Mate X5
  • Mate X5 Collector’s Edition
  • MatePad Pro 13.2
  • MatePad Pro 13.2 Collector’s Edition

Other flagship models like the Pura 70 series, Pocket 2, and MatePad Pro 11 2024 may join this list in the coming weeks. Till then, make sure that your device is up-to-date and has sufficient storage space as the beta build weighs more than a GB.

Unlike previous HarmonyOS versions, the HarmonyOS NEXT rollout could be different. It doesn’t support any Android codes or apps. It uses Huawei’s self-developed OS components like Harmony kernel which is 3x more efficient than Linux.

This means that HarmonyOS NEXT could be incompatible with some apps on your device. Hence, don’t panic if a few apps work abnormally after the beta installation. Also, you may get chance to explore many native apps alongside the new beta update.

HarmonyOS NEXT closed beta

The company recently kicked off the HarmonyOS NEXT.0.0.70 beta version for eligible devices. The list includes both first and second-batch models. It comes with over 1GB of OTA update package and contains several features to improve user experience.

Notably, users must have sufficient storage space in their devices. We advise at least 5GB of free space in your phones or tablets as the package size may vary depending on the model.

Bugs and Backup

Since it’s a beta activity, there may be some serious bugs and software issues in the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta. However, it’s a completely normal behavior of ‘under-development’ software. Still, we suggest proceeding at your risk for the upgrade.

Also, this is a completely new and different software version from the past builds. The installation might delete all the previous data on your device. Therefore, we recommend a full backup of your handset to avoid any kind of data loss.

How to register?

Eligible device users can apply for the public beta activity via the My Huawei App. Go to the Me section and select the Join Beta Project. Tap on the available Beta Program. Fill in your correct details and apply. One can share feedback or report issues through the same app or using the Huawei Community.

HarmonyOS NEXT Features:

The new software upgrade focuses on six major aspects: native apps, native security, native refinements, native smoothness, native intelligence, and native interconnectivity. Some key implementations in the new software are:

Let’s see what else the company will introduce with the upcoming HarmonyOS NEXT public beta program next week.

One UI 7 will be the next major chapter in the Samsung software upgrade world. Android 15-based One UI 7 will bring exciting features and UI tools, and before its official release, here’s an overview of the upcoming OS version for Samsung devices.

Samsung has been working on the One UI 7.0 for a few months. This ultimately sparks the expectations for an official announcement of the new software release.

However, the company hasn’t given any official statements on this matter so far. The good news is that the Samsung Developer Conference will held on October 03 (tomorrow). At that time, the tech giant might share One UI 7.0-related news.

Chances are high as the company highlighted a few key segments of the One UI 6 at the SDC event last year. This time too, we may witness some exclusive features ahead of the software’s official launch. Let’s cross our fingers and wait for tomorrow.

Android 15

Being one of the biggest Android players, Samsung will launch the One UI 7.0 based on Android 15. Google’s new Android version is going through multiple beta tests including the QPR builds. It is expected to go stable this month, but the date is still unknown.

Following the Android 15 beta updates, Samsung One UI 7.0 beta program was expected to begin in August this year. Although the company delayed the matter. It seems the company is taking time to optimize its new OS with better animations, features, and enhancements.

One UI 7.0: Release?

Probably, Samsung will initiate the One UI 7.0 beta program after the stable release of Android 15. The situation may also turn around at the SDC 2024 event and the company may release the One UI 7 beta on the first day of the conference.

Samsung has unexpectedly delayed the One UI 7.0 beta this year. While the Galaxy S23 was the first to get the One UI 6 beta in 2023, Galaxy S24 users are still waiting for the major upgrade offering. Although the company may clear the mist on this matter this month.

One UI 7.0: Eligible Devices

The tech giant will roll out One UI 7.0 beta and stable builds starting from its flagship Galaxy models. Thereafter, it will be released for other models of the A, M, and F series.

Note that the Galaxy S24 series as well as the Galaxy Z Fold/Flip 6 models received the blessing of 7-year update support. Meanwhile, previous models of the Galaxy family remain confined to the 4 years of major OS and 5 years of security rollouts.

Samsung One UI 7

It’s one of the major benefits for the Galaxy S24 and Z Fold/Flip 6 users as they can enjoy some extra years of huge Android upgrades. Let’s take a look at which models could be the first to fetch the One UI 7 beta and stable software update:

  • Samsung Galaxy S24 series
  • Samsung Galaxy S23 series
  • Samsung Galaxy S23 FE
  • Samsung Galaxy S22 series
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 series
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 FE
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3
  • Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3

Note that this isn’t an official roadmap. But based on the previous rollout pattern, Samsung could follow this upgrade plan to some extent. The company will likely add more devices to the list in the upcoming days.

One UI 7.0: Features

One UI 7.0 will be a packet of interesting features. It may sport a completely revamped UI with better animations and transitions. It could also adopt a Dynamic Island tool to show the live activities of an application without actually opening it.

A rumor claimed that One UI 7 could use an iOS-like battery health feature to offer a clear detail about the device’s battery status. A Vertical App Drawer is also in the works to make application access easier and more convenient for phone users.

Samsung will likely focus on enhancing the UI segment with One UI 7. Some other changes that we find with the upcoming software include new system app icons, new control area at the lock screen, easy adjustment of shortcut icons on the lock screen, new battery icon + charging animation, new camera interface, large folders, and more.

Ironically, One UI 7.0 could also steal the EMUI’s old separate Quick Settings and Notification Panel design. Although that’s just a speculation and things will get clear with the official launch of Samsung One UI 7.0.
