Samsung is adopting impressive UI changes with One UI 7.0 and app icons are no exception to this theory. A new leak suggests that the company has once again redesigned multiple app icons with one of the internal software testing versions.

X tipster @UniverseIce details a new One UI 7.0 internal testing build. He says that Samsung has revamped several app icons with the latest One UI 7.0 version.

The company has specifically made changes to the Gallery, Phone, Camera, Voice Recorder, Contacts, and Notes app icons. Samsung phone users will probably notice beautiful and appealing changes in the user interface with the One UI 7 upgrade.

Further input reveals that the new app icons are more reasonable and far better looking than ever before. It seems Samsung is now working as per users’ feedback.

Samsung is readying more modern and comprehensive app icons this time that can be soothing to the eyes. These improvements will ultimately boost the user interface and make it more attractive than the previous One UI software updates.

One UI 7.0 will go official next year alongside the Galaxy S25 series. Till then, the company will surely adopt more useful and attractive changes to provide the best software experience to its users.

Huawei has interestingly hinted at the starting price of the Nova 13 series. As per the revelations, the new smartphones could cost below 3000 yuan. It seems there won’t be much difference between the latest and previous-gen devices in cost.

The Chinese tech giant has shared a new poster on the Huawei Mall for the Nova 13 series. The image highlights the standard and Pro models with a price question:

“Price: ¥2??9/¥3??9 | Pre-order to win a gift | Post your order and stand a chance to win starry handbags”

Note that the 2xx9 yuan price is for standard whereas the 3xx9 yuan is for the Pro variant. It indicates that the Huawei Nova 13 series starting price will be below 3000 yuan. It’s a relief to those who thought the cost may exceed 3000 yuan this time.

Last year, Huawei launched three models in the Nova 12 series: Standard, Pro, and Ultra. A Lite version also accompanied the lineup. These devices start pricing at:

  • Nova 12 Lite (256GB) – 2499 yuan
  • Nova 12 (256GB) – 2999 yuan
  • Nova 12 Pro (256GB) – 3999 yuan
  • Nova 12 Ultra (512GB) – 4699 yuan

Judging from the new posters and price of the Nova 12/12 Pro, it seems the Nova 13 series may bear the same cost tag as its predecessors. To know the exact details, we have to wait till the official unveiling of both smartphones.

Huawei Nova 13 series will debut on October 22 alongside HarmonyOS NEXT. A few leaks say that the new smartphone lineup will come with the HarmonyOS 4.4 software system out of the box. The respective version has been in rumors for a long while.

Apart from software, the devices could feature upgraded camera sensors and imaging features to enhance the photography experience. A Kirin 5G chipset with better performance improvements is also expected with the Huawei Nova 13 series.

Huawei is developing a new Kirin 9 series chip for its devices, which could adopt a “1+3+4” octa-core architecture. It will likely be built on a 7nm process. This time, the company has improved its chipset manufacturing for better CPU performance.

FixedFocus notes that the upcoming Huawei Kirin 9 series chip may have a “1+3+4” CPU architecture. It will use one self-developed large core, three medium cores, and 4 small cores. It could also use an improved 7nm Pro Plus chipset platform.

A self-developed large core implies better and higher performance. These cores can easily handle heavy tasks like gaming, video editing, and more. The medium and small cores maintain balance and ensure a reduction in power consumption.

7nm Pro Plus hints at a more enhanced chipset platform. Huawei has said to improve its existing 7nm technology rather than focusing on the new 5nm or 3nm ones. The 7nm Pro Plus refers to the company’s new improvements in chip making.

The leak also implies that the OEM may use 8, 6, and 4 channels as per the chipset yield. Here, channels refer to a separate path that enables the CPU to access memory. The number of channels in a processor helps it to interact with memory modules.

For instance, the Quad Channel has four channels to associate with the memory module. The “6-channel and 8-channel” mainly used for servers. A high number of channels also increases bandwidth and results in dynamic computing performance.

Some netizens predicted that Huawei may bring two new Kirin chips for its Mate 70 series. The standard Mate 70 model could use the new Kirin 9 chip. Meanwhile, the high-end variants will likely adopt a 5nm processor with upgraded performance.

The prediction might be accurate to some extent. Huawei has been long-rumored to develop new Kirin chipsets for its flagship products. It seems the processors are in the final development phase and could show up by the end of this year.

Other details about the new chipset such as its name, official parameters, and internal changes are still unknown. Although we will discover these inputs probably with the Mate 70 series launch, seemingly scheduled for November 2024.

Huawei is rolling out a new HarmonyOS NEXT public beta update and it added new exFAT file support among other new improvements. The company has released HMOS NEXT version 0.0.71 (SP1) with 456 megabytes of download size.

exFAT

This HarmonyOS NEXT update has added support for exFAT file system format. This will enable the operating system to detect additional external storage devices.

Extensible File Allocation Table (exFAT) is a file system that is an upgraded version of FAT32. It enables the system to efficiently process large files and storage devices.

It was first introduced in 2006 by Microsoft to replace FAT32 on devices with flash memory such as USB and SD cards. FAT32 has a 4GB size limit but exFAT could handle much larger files.

Furthermore, exFAT is supported by various operating systems including Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android. This allows the user to seamlessly share files between different devices.

Charging and other improvements

The new update boosts turbocharging mode to improve overall user experience. The firmware also improves the user interface and optimizes system stability for better performance.

There’s a fix for Celia keyboard which resolves some issues with character position. On the other hand, devices with facial recognition have been facing issues with random unlock errors, which is addressed with this software.

The contact app is getting a new fix for issues in deleting and merging similar contacts. Eventually, the update has optimized the system for a better user experience in some situations.

Beta

Released on October 8, the public beta campaign has gathered more than a million users. The current activity is limited to flagship devices and will expand to other models as the activity progresses.

The program has unlimited test slots and any users with eligible devices can opt for public beta, folowed by OTA release.

Samsung is seemingly adopting some incredible UI changes for One UI 7.0 including the widgets and icons. A few inputs have revealed that the firm is busy improving the user interface segments for its devices with the next One UI software upgrade.

X tipster @UniverseIce recently noticed the creativity level of One UI 7.0 in one of its early builds. He says that the software is still in development. But new testing builds hint at positive improvements regarding the User Interface and stability.

The tipster further reveals that One UI 7.0 will bring redesigned widgets and many icons. For instance, the Samsung Gallery app will get a new app icon again.

Not only applications but the upcoming software update may also change the in-content tool and feature icons of the Gallery app. Apart from the Samsung Gallery, users could discover more new innovative app icons with the One UI 7.0 beta.

Speaking of the widgets, the tipster mentioned that One UI 7 will likely bring some incomparably rich widgets. These might deliver smarter tools and capabilities over the rival operating systems. But the details aren’t clear for the time being.

A report by ETNews also claims that Samsung is working on the stability and completeness of the One UI 7.0 user interface. The company continues to perform new internal tests that can improve the new software’s UI to a greater extent.

Samsung is putting efforts to make its upcoming One UI upgrade the best for its device users. This is probably a reason why the company is taking time to roll out the first beta update. How far the tech giant will extend this wait would be worth seeing.

It’s October 2024 and Huawei has updated the security patch details for its EMUI and HarmonyOS-powered devices. The latest patch brings some new improvements that will boost the security aspects and offer a more reliable user experience.

With the latest security patch, the company has fixed 6 medium-level CVEs. This time, there aren’t any critical bugs found in the device’s system. However, we recommend keeping your devices up-to-date with the newest software or security builds.

These rollouts often work as a baseline build for the major updates. On the other hand, they also protect the device from privacy exploits and harmful malware that often leads to system crashes, app freezing, abnormal functioning, and data leaks.

Apart from 6 CVEs, the company has also fixed 2 critical and 16 high-level third-party library defects. Installing the new security patch on your device will unlock an efficient and bug-free experience.

EMUI

Huawei has seemingly completed the EMUI 14.2 rollout for its eligible top-end models. Although the company hasn’t mentioned any details regarding the EMUI 14.2 expansion for other models. In this case, it may push a surprising update in the future.

HarmonyOS

The tech giant is quite busy with the HarmonyOS NEXT in China. The new OS has reached the public beta phase. It may step on the stability platform next month alongside the Mate 70 series. You can learn more about the software upgrade HERE.

October 2024 security patch hasn’t started to roll out for Huawei devices. At present, the company is busy with the September 2024 update distribution among its left-out devices. Although the company may soon begin the new patch rollout shortly.

Till then, let’s take a look at Huawei October 2024 EMUI and HarmonyOS security patch details.

It’s October 8 and Huawei launches the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta program for its eligible devices. The company has opened public testing for selected handset users. However, the current activity will soon be expanded to more devices.

HarmonyOS NEXT public beta program has brought an end to the long-running anticipation of consumers. Previous testing versions were limited to developers and early adopters. But now the company has extended the testing to public testers.

Up to this point, the company has pushed off several developer beta builds for experienced software testers. Now the new self-developed software is open to general device users to explore new features before the stable release.

The tech giant has launched the latest beta activity for the first batch of devices. The list includes Mate 60 series, Mate X5 foldable, and MatePad Pro 13.2 tablet.

Simply put, the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta version will be available to these device users right after they sign up in the current testing pool. They don’t have to wait for the rollout like the closed beta devices (Pura 70, Pocket 2, and more).

How to sign up?

Eligible device users can check the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta activity on the My Huawei app. Open the application and select the “Upgrade” or “Upgrade to Try” option. Wait for a few minutes and follow the on-screen prompts to register.

After completing the signup, users will immediately get the new public beta update with some interesting features and a set of new improvements. Users may also get a chance to test the new native HarmonyOS app versions and their changes.

Users can further share their feedback, and suggestions, or report issues using the My Huawei app > Community. It will eventually help in improving the software.

Points to remember

HarmonyOS NEXT public beta activity will push testing builds to devices. Being a new software, the installation may lead to the deletion of your data. Hence, it is better to take a backup beforehand to avoid any data loss.

Also, the company is still adapting some applications to HarmonyOS. It will detect and prompt the apps that are not available in the HarmonyOS NEXT AppGallery. However, if you face abnormal functioning with any app then don’t worry, as it is a normal software behavior.

Huawei has released a new HarmonyOS NEXT.0.0.71 software update to some beta testers and it’s suspected to be a public beta build. Although the accuracy of this update being a public beta version is still in doubt. Let’s explore this matter.

Weibo tipster @RuiPlaysDigital shared the screenshot of the HarmonyOS NEXT.0.0.71 update, saying that it is a public beta version. If true, it’s quite strange as the OEM scheduled the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta program for tomorrow (October 8).

The tipster didn’t mention any other details on this matter. It only said that the “0.0.71 is the public test version”. A netizen asked if the WeChat app will be available with the HarmonyOS NEXT public beta. But the tipster denied this matter.

It is unclear how far the current leak is accurate. Huawei has set the public beta program for October 8. This simply means that the company will begin things with registration and thereby, releasing the new HarmonyOS NEXT public beta build.

Another perspective is, Huawei has currently pushed this version to closed beta users. After October 8, the company may open the same build for public testing.

Huawei will surely clear the doubts on this matter tomorrow. Till then, let’s have a look at the new features arriving with the HarmonyOS NEXT.0.0.71 beta update.
