Samsung One UI 7.0 will launch next year but a tipster managed to get the initial look of the new upgrade’s Quick Settings. Yes, a new leak presents the incredible look of the One UI 7.0 Control Panel and its design changes ahead of the stable release.

X tipster @UniverseIce has shared an alleged mockup of Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra that highlights the One UI 7.0 Quick Settings panel and it looks quite impressive.

Looking into the image, the Quick Settings UI shows a more clean, simple, and easy-to-navigate appearance. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth tabs are now bigger highlighting a huge pill-shaped structure. Both these tabs are placed at the top.

Below these functions, the Control Panel has a 4 x 2 layout which shows 8 quick setting toggles. Users may expand this bar up to 16 toggles. The next section exhibits the audio controller with some tools that let you change the music without opening the respective application.

Ahead, the Quick Settings has two rounded-square-like structures for the brightness and volume adjuster. One can directly opt for Eye comfort and Dark mode through the brightness adjuster. Meanwhile, the volume controller shows sound settings.

Finally, there are two more tabs, just like the ones at starting. These tabs reflect the Smart View and Device Control. There are some changes to the network and battery indicators at the top of the Quick Settings. Also, the overall appearance is quite blurry but highlights and solid background.

Google will likely change how the Quick Settings and Notification Panel appear on your phone, with Android 16. However, instead of being an effective and beneficial makeover, this new modification could annoy smartphone users to some extent.

The Android 16 Quick Settings and Notification Panel tweak has appeared ahead of the Android 15 stable release. Spotted in the Android 15 QPR1 beta, the U.S. firm plans to separate the Quick Settings and Notification Panel with the next upgrade.

Up to this point, Android software used to offer a unified Notification Panel and Quick Settings. But with the next Android version, Google could change this pattern.

Starting with the Notification Panel, users will be able to access the panel via a single swipe gesture. But rather than covering the entire screen, the panel will only take a quarter of the display. Notably, this gesture won’t let you access Quick Settings.

For the Control Center, users need to swipe down on the screen with two fingers. This could be slightly annoying as it ends the one-hand accessibility. Although Google might make new changes or enhancements to this segment in the time ahead.

Quick Settings will further reflect a dual-shade design throughout. Also, the brightness adjuster now appears in a thick pill shape and shows a text label, just like volume sliders. Users may also see 2 x 2 grid tiles and 4 x 2 grids for narrow tiles.

The Quick Settings will show 12-16 tiles per page. One can swipe left or right to access more settings. Light mode could be another addition. This is just an initial look and Google could make changes to these panels with the next versions.

Huawei Central’s Take:

Separate Quick Settings and Notification Panel – well, that reminds us of the Huawei phones. The Chinese OEM introduced this concept with EMUI 12 based on extensive research on user preferences and psychology. One can easily go through all alerts and notifications at a time without getting stuck due to Quick Settings.

Years later, smartphone makers started adopting the same pattern for their Android skin. Xiaomi’s HyperOS and now Google are examples in this case. But instead of making it a tough task, Huawei simplified the dual panels with easy one-finger gestures.

How Google will renovate this idea with Android 16 would be worth looking at.

EMUI 11 is a revamped version of EMUI 10.0 and 10.1 and it comes with substantial improvements over the predecessor. However, EMUI 12 is something new and we’ll conduct a comparison series between EMUI 12 and EMUI 11 before EMUI 13 comes out. For this, we’ll first look into the changes that have been made to the EMUI quick settings or control panel and check out the differences.

Time to dive in.

EMUI 11: Quick Settings

EMUI 11 quick settings have the traditional quick access icons with a switch feature, which you can enable or disable with a tap. Other than that, you can also change the brightness level through the slider.

Furthermore, the notification panel is attached to the quick settings. Similar to the last version, the EMUI 11 also comes with various customization features to add/remove icons.

The panel has a soft background color that helps you differentiate between the icon and the background.

EMUI 12: Control Panel

EMUI 12 comes with a brand new Control Panel, which is a combination of various services in one place. The Control panel includes a media controller, and smart device manager that helps you connect and control devices such as tablets, FreeBuds, and Smartwatches.

That’s not it, Huawei has retained the quick settings icons from EMUI 11 and added them inside the control panel.

The EMUI 12 control panel has a better appearance with lots of new features. On the flip side, you can edit the switches or disable the smart device panel as per your preference.

Quick Settings are an essential part of any Android device, as it’s consists of a bunch of features and could be accessed with top to bottom swipe from the taskbar. Throughout the revolution of the Android device, this part has also been evolving with various additions as well as well removals.

With Android 12, Google has taken the concept of Quick Settings to the next level. The Android 12 Quick Settings is by far proven to be the best Quick Settings layout possible in the stock lineup. On the other hand, the addition of the Material You design scheme has made it more elegant in terms of user experience.

So, without further ado, let’s talk about Android 12 Quick Settings:

The new quick settings opened up gradually and consist of notifications that will appear in a detailed or shrunk manner according to the notification space and the area available. If there are too many, the notification begins to stack on their corresponding app notification tree.

To make things simple, you can jump on the “manage” notification menu or tap on “clear all” to clear all of the active notifications on your notification panel. If you choose to tap on Manage, it’ll lead towards the notification settings, from here, you can tweak all of the settings accordingly.

Quick Settings Tiles:

The most interesting part of the Android 12 Quick Settings comes with the new Tiles system along with a new enhanced brightness control slider. The new tiles system is very intriguing and helps you to reach the least possible option without missing a touch. The width and the high adjustment are perfect in terms of access and each tile fits on places once the quick setting expands.

The tiles are big and placed in two-column style, Therefore, users can swipe right to find more options. In terms of customization, you can also add or remove tiles from the Quick Settings as per your requirement.

How can we forget the new Material You touch on the tiles, the new Android 12 Quick Settings, similar to other parts of the UI, can adapt the color of the wallpaper and enhance the overall look and feel of the Quick Settings Menu.
