Honor today officially shared the X60 series teaser, revealing a familiar yet distinctive design. The phone looks quite slim but has different back panel and camera module options. Perhaps the appearance differs for standard and Pro handsets.

The company has already confirmed to unveil the Honor X60 series on 16 October. As of now, it has started increasing the excitement of users with new teasers.

Looking into the teaser, Honor aligned four X60 models in an X-shape design. The company didn’t reveal the device’s key specs, but wrote an interesting caption:

“Whimpering: On October 16, Brother Jiang Hairong-Harrison will bring a hardcore challenge, guess what it is? #HonorX60Series#”

According to the image, the Honor X60 series will likely have four colors: White, Cyan, Orange, and Silver or Black. The orange variant shows a plain leather texture on the back. Whereas, the While and Cyan shades exhibit a rococo pattern.

The difference is also visible in terms of the camera module. This time, the company is showing two different camera bumps on the X60 models. One of these has a thick circular rim with four lens openings (two seem closed) in the inner circle.

Although the white color variant shows a Mate 60 Pro-like camera bump. The lenses are embedded in the outer circle, leaving the center empty with MATRIX branding. The LED flash appears at the top while one lens is on the side.

One of the models highlights a pill-shaped dual-hole design on the front side for the selfie sensor. The design is different from the previous alleged hands-on image of the X60. Perhaps, this new model could be the X60 Pro smartphone. It also shows speakers on the upper side for clear calling scenarios.

The overall appearance looks a bit slimmer than the previous models and has simple round corners with a dual-curved screen. The company will reveal the secret behind the different camera modules on October 16. Stay tuned.

  • Active broadcast capability: When the application is adapted for screen reading, it can support active broadcast of changing information through accessibility in some dynamically changing scenarios.
  • Active focus capability: When an application is adapted to screen reading, it can request active focus on components in certain scenarios.

Resource Scheduling

Background Tasks

  • Apply for long-duration task types and support applying for multiple types of long-duration tasks at the same time.
  • The application applies for DATA_TRANSFER download-related long-term tasks, and supports returning download notifications to the application for progress updates.

Performance, power consumption, thermal integration control

  • The system load fusion gear is determined based on information such as the current temperature, load, and whether it is in a high-load scenario. After the application registers the system load callback, it can adaptively downgrade its own business load according to the different levels of the system load fusion gear, thereby reducing the load of the entire machine.

Agent reminder

  • When an application applies for a recurring calendar reminder, it supports specifying an exclusion day, on which no reminder will be given.
  • When the application applies for a reminder, wantAgent supports passing parameters. When jumping to the target UIAbility after clicking the reminder, the parameters are carried.
  • When the application queries for published reminders, the corresponding reminderId is returned in the query results.

Testing Framework

  • Supports compatibility testing of cross-platform interfaces.

DFX

  • Provides an API to determine whether the HDC debugger is connected.
  • Support turning on the trace function in developer mode.
  • Enable awareness of main thread timeout events.
  • errorManager supports TaskPool and Worker to listen for unhandled Reject events.

Kernel

  • Provide thread QoS level marking and scheduling based on user interaction relationships.

Upload and download

  • request.agent.Fault refines the error types to help developers quickly locate API usage problems.
  • request.agent.Config adds a new proxy member to support setting the network proxy address of the task.
  • request.agent.Task.start supports restarting failed\stopped tasks, making it easier for developers to quickly recover failed tasks.
  • request.agent.Task supports configuring TLS certificate pinning fingerprints using the network.json configuration file.
  • request.agent.FileSpec supports specifying all file paths under the base directory of the application sandbox, making it easier for developers to manage sandbox files. It also supports uploading public files on the front end, such as gallery files and album files, to reduce the overhead caused by additional copies.

Input Method Framework

  • The NDK-based C API now supports self-drawn UI components using input methods, including launching and exiting input methods, and processing text on-screen requests.
  • Optimize the callback timing when pulling up the keyboard, so that the input method application can adjust the keyboard display content in time according to the input box properties.

Time Zone

  • Provides system APIs for forcing NTP time to refresh and obtaining the current NTP time.
  • The NDK-based C API provides the ability to obtain the time zone.

Clipboard

  • The NDK-based C API supports clipboard capabilities.
  • Provides a cross-device clipboard switch.
  • When the app is upgraded to API 12 or later, add a read permission check to the clipboard reading interface.

Web

  • The network takeover feature is enhanced to support obtaining the FrameUrl of the request and the ResourceType of the intercepted request.
  • Supports the pre-screening capability of the Web scene input method.
  • Supports Web Components keyboard hosting capabilities.
  • Supports synchronous drawing capabilities of Web components and ArkUI native components.
  • Supports setting whitelist directories that can be accessed across domains using the File protocol.
  • Support applications to specify rendering subprocesses.
  • Web components support an accelerometer and gyroscope.
  • Web components support intelligent filling of H5 pages.
  • Web components support BFCache capabilities.
  • Improve the soft keyboard avoidance mechanism of Web components and support Resize and Offset modes.

Theme Framework

A Huawei smartphone has been leaked in a live image and the camera side suggests, it might belong to the upcoming Mate 70 RS Ultimate Design.

The source of the image is unknown but it appears to be a Huawei device for certain. Meanwhile, there are some elements in the photograph that we can explore.

The phone is covered with a protective case but the camera opening is octagonal. Over the past years, Huawei has been using this camera outlook to achieve distinctiveness for Mate RS models. On the other hand, standard and Pro models use round design.

Coming to the camera count, the image shows at least five openings and additional sensors. Such camera count also doesn’t belong to the regular or Pro model.

I can confirm that both, Huawei Mate 50 RS or 60 RS doesn’t have such a camera system or any previous RS family models except the Mate 40 RS Porsche Design.

The phone introduced five rear lenses including a wide camera, an ultra wide-angle camera, a telephoto camera, a periscope telephoto camera, and a 3D depth lens.

However, Huawei Mate 50 RS and 60RS didn’t follow this five-camera strategy.

There’s more, the right side of the phone’s frame has a power button and volume adjustment keys. The screen is widely curved, which is a bit suspicious.

Previous reports speculate that Huawei will upgrade the Mate 70 RS screen and increase its size. Mate 60 RS display measures 6.82 inches and an upgrade could take it to 6.9 for this new device.

Furthermore, the 60 RS featured a quad curve display similar to the Mate 60 Pro. It’s uncertain, whether Huawei will switch to more curved edges than the Mate 70 Pro.

The top of the phone has three openings on the side, the wide one is for speakers and the two others are infrared sensors and a secondary microphone.

Huawei Mate RS phones are designed with premium materials and this year’s Mate 70 RS won’t be an exception to this tradition.

With all these facts, the live image of the Huawei Mate 70 RS Ultimate Design remains inconclusive. However, we’ll have to wait until a clear picture emerges.

After the September 2024 launch event, Huawei is seemingly preparing to unveil more new devices in October. The latest information hints at some of the amazing and most-awaited Huawei products that could launch next month.

UncleKanshan shared a new Huawei devices plan for October 2024. The list counts the Nova 13 series, a new Watch Ultimate Edition, a portable speaker, and a tablet.

Let’s discuss these products one by one!

Nova 13 series: The mid-range lineup has been sparking speculations since April this year. It was expected to launch in June 2024. Later, a few leaks said that the device was delayed to October. It seems the company will finally release it next month.

The mid-ranger could use Kirin 9010 5G and bring a new design as well as camera upgrades. It may adopt enhanced satellite features and bear a higher price than its predecessors. The company may continue the dual front camera concept with Nova 13.

Watch Ultimate New Edition

Huawei has debuted the Watch Ultimate Green Edition in the global market. Although it is still missing from the home ground. Perhaps the company may launch the new wearable edition in China next month with some exclusive smart features.

The dynamic smartwatch adopts a new design with a dual-tone bezel (green-white). It brings golf course-related features, Pro-level sports modes, and the TruSense system. Note that it’s unclear if the company will launch Watch D2 at the same stage.

Portable Speaker: Sound X4

Sound X4 was expected to launch in September alongside new wearables. But the company brought in another compact speaker – Sound Joy 2 with impressive features and a Smart Edition in the home ground. Thus, the X4 may launch in October.

A recent leak suggested that the upcoming Sound X4 speaker will adopt the same color and price as the first-gen model. However, there could be changes in key specs.

MatePad 2024

The Chinese tech giant might release a new-gen MatePad tablet. The details of this device are unclear at present. Although it could be one of the models that recently appeared on the 3C certifications. Things may get more clear in the upcoming days.

These are some of the Huawei models that could debut next month. Note that the company hasn’t confirmed these devices yet. Also, we may see more new additions in October. The launch will probably take place after the Chinese Day holidays (mid-October). Stay tuned.
